Terms of use
These terms cover use of this website and the booking of a telehealth consultation with Cortex Telehealth. They are a draft for legal review. They are not personal health advice.
Draft – needs legal review
Last updated 11 October 2026.
Who you are dealing with
The website is operated by Cortex Health Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 91 682 317 077), trading as Cortex Telehealth. Consultations are provided by Brett Jones, Nurse Practitioner. Email: info@cortextelehealth.com.au.
Not for emergencies
By using this site you understand it is not an emergency service. If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness, severe bleeding, a serious allergic reaction, or any other emergency, call 000. Do not book a routine appointment and wait.
Telehealth has limits
A video consult cannot replace an examination. Some problems are unsafe to manage this way. Brett may decline to treat, ask you to see a GP or another service in person, or refer you. Booking and paying does not mean a prescription will be written, a particular medicine will be chosen, or a particular health outcome will follow. Those are clinical decisions made in the consult, and only when they are appropriate.
You agree to be in a private place, to tell the truth about your history and medicines, and to attend follow-up when it is part of safe care. If follow-up is missed repeatedly, prescribing may be paused until you are reviewed.
Fees
The current consultation fees are $160 for an initial consult and $80 for a follow-up, as shown on the fees page and in the booking window. They are private fees. There is no Medicare rebate on the consultation. Pathology and medicines are billed by the laboratory and the pharmacy.
Payment is taken by Halaxy at the time of booking. You should check the amount before you pay. Cancellation and missed-appointment rules are on the fees page and include items still marked for Brett's confirmation.
Your prescription
If a prescription is written, it is an electronic prescription you may take to any pharmacy in Australia. Filling it, and paying for the medicine, is between you and the pharmacy. PBS eligibility is decided by the rules that apply on the day, not by this website.
Website content
Pages on this site, including articles, are general information. They are not a diagnosis and not a plan for you. Articles marked draft are waiting for clinical review and should not be treated as finished patient information.
The text, the brain illustration and the wordmark are owned by the practice or used under licence. You may not copy them for your own commercial use. Brand fonts used in print are separate from the webfonts on this site, which are open-licence substitutes until web licences are confirmed.
Liability
To the extent the Australian Consumer Law allows, the practice is not liable for loss that comes from relying on general website text instead of a consultation, or from a delay you cause by withholding relevant history. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded. TODO: a lawyer should settle the liability wording, including any cap that is fair under the ACL.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales and the laws of Australia that apply generally. TODO: confirm the governing law once the practice address is settled. Courts of New South Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
