Is Cortex right for me?

Cortex works best when you are ready to put in the work. Brett keeps the practice small so he can give every patient proper time and follow-up. In return, he asks for a few things.

What we ask of you

  • Get the tests done. Blood tests and measurements are how we tailor and track your care.
  • Turn up to follow-ups. Regular check-ins are part of safe care, not an optional extra.
  • Do the day-to-day work. Food, movement, sleep and stress are your side of the plan. Brett will help you make it realistic.
  • Be open about what is working and what is not. No judgement, just honest adjustments.

Cortex probably is not for you if…

  • You are after a specific medicine and do not want an assessment. Brett only recommends treatment when it is clinically appropriate and safe.
  • You would rather not do testing or follow-up.
  • You need urgent care. In an emergency, call 000.

That is not a judgement. It is just how we do our best work. If now is not the right time, that is okay. The door is open when you are ready.

Missed follow-up is a safety issue. If reviews are repeatedly missed, Brett may pause prescribing until you have been seen again. That is so treatment stays safe. It is not a punishment. The fee for a review is on the fees page, and it is not an upsell.

A good fit looks like this

You want someone to take a proper history. You are willing to have blood tests before decisions are made, and to come back for a review. You can join a video call from a private place in Australia. You understand the consult fee is private, with no Medicare rebate. And you would rather a plan you can keep than a promise nobody can make. The safety standard is the short version of how that is done.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call 000, or call Lifeline on 13 11 14. Do not wait for an appointment.

If this sounds like you, book.

The booking page shows the fee and the available times. Nothing about your health is collected on this website.
