Initial consultation

$160

40 minutes, by video. New patients.

Follow-up review

$80

20 minutes. Existing patients.

What the fee includes

  • The consultation with Brett Jones, Nurse Practitioner. The initial consult is 40 minutes by video. A follow-up review is 20 minutes.
  • A clinical assessment and a plan discussed with you.
  • A prescription, referral or pathology request only when it is clinically appropriate. These are not add-on products.
  • Follow-up arranged as part of your care, billed at the follow-up fee when it happens.

What the fee does not include

  • A Medicare rebate. Consultations are private. There is no rebate to claim on the appointment.
  • Pathology. The laboratory bills you. Some tests are bulk-billed by the lab and some have an out-of-pocket cost.
  • Medicines. You pay the pharmacy. If a medicine is PBS-listed for a Nurse Practitioner and you are eligible, you pay the standard PBS price.
  • Any care you receive from another clinician or in person.

There is no subscription, no joining fee and no lock-in. You pay for the consults you book. There is no Medicare rebate on the appointment fee.

Why there is no Medicare rebate

Private billing keeps the fee to a single number and lets the appointment run as long as the clinical work needs. A Medicare card may still be requested so an electronic prescription can be created. Using it for an eScript is not the same as billing the consult to Medicare.

TODO: pathology billing

Brett still needs to confirm whether laboratories usually bulk-bill pathology he requests. Until that is confirmed, the public line is only this: the lab bills the test, and you should ask them about any gap. Do not add a firmer claim without his confirmation.

Cancellations and missed appointments

Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment, through the booking confirmation Halaxy sends you. A late cancellation or a missed appointment may still be charged the consultation fee, because that time was held for you.

TODO: confirm the cancellation rules

Brett needs to confirm the notice period, whether the full fee is charged for a late cancel or a no-show, and how refunds are handled in Halaxy. The 24-hour line above is a draft so patients are not left without a policy. Update this section, and only this section, when he decides. Prices themselves stay in src/data/site.ts.

If follow-ups are missed repeatedly, prescribing may be paused until a review happens. That is a clinical safety step.

How you pay

You pay when you book, inside Halaxy. Cortex Telehealth does not store your card number on this website. The amount on the booking page should match the figures on this page. If it does not, do not proceed, and email the practice so it can be corrected.

The fee is the fee.

Book if the price and the commitment both make sense. The calendar shows the times that are actually open.
